Sandra McKersey, our inaugural Patron, spoke to WINGS members at the monthly meeting in April about starting People Potential.
Sandra was a teacher who was focused on ensuring that every child was given a chance and reached their goal, whatever that may be. She described starting People Potential, a private educational institution with her husband in a small room at their home. From this, a Polytechnic type of business has grown, providing access to those who may not fit into mainstream education. The work is done in collaboration with the ministry of Education and courses may be delivered to and from vocational groups like the police. Every student who enrolls with People Potential has access to free driving lessons and can obtain a license.
It was a most inspirational talk from a lady who talks straight and does good around her local community. She is an enabler and an inspiration to all women and very generous indeed. She has written a book ‘Just Say Yes’ which can be purchased from WINGS office for $20. All proceeds go to WINGS.
