On Friday 7th May, team WINGS ladies, prettily clad in pink, met bright and early at the Clock Museum in Whangarei's Town Basin. Our mission-to walk The Loop to raise awareness of breast cancer. It was a bright sparkling morning and the walk gave us an opportunity to catch up with each other and meet new friends.
We stopped for a breather by the iconic harbour bridge, Te Matau a Pohe, and unexpectedly Janina led us in a rather lovely spontaneous Tai Chi session with the backdrop of the beautiful Hatea River. We ended up at Sabio's coffeeshop for breakfast where several other WINGS ladies were already enjoying their coffee. The Ladies were most generous and the Koha donations raised in excess of $90, which Sabio Cafe will pass on. Thank you to Sabio Cafe for welcoming us.
