| VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | |

For quite some time, many WINGS members have expressed an interest in finding ways in which we, as a group, could support each other and our community more fully. Towards that end, we've created the following questionnaire. If you (or someone you know) would like to get involved, please express your interest by completing the attached slip and returning it to us at 71 Bank St. or email wingsnz@hotmail.com. We've put together a few ideas, and if you have any additional ideas, please make a note or drop us an email. We welcome and encourage your input. Thank you for your support, time and interest. Practical support · Be part of a cleaning squad (i.e helping to clean a rental property ready for a family to move into) · Visit a sick person, in hospital or at home · Make a meal for a sick person · Offer short-term accommodation · Transport members to meetings or events · Help orientate new members around town (Whangarei is notoriously easy to get lost in) · Buddy a new member · Do you have a van? Would you transport furniture? · Sharing skills (computer, crafts, languages ...) · Support a family with young children · Transporting to appointments · Do you work in the health or education sector, could you give an overview of your services as and when required? Wings support · Organise events/set up new groups · Coordinate the Tea Ceremony group · Volunteer in the office · Distribute brochures around town – shops, schools etc · Be part of the fund raising committee · Write grant/funding applications · Write articles for the newsletter (interesting places to visit, things to do ...) · Represent Wings at other migrant group celebrations · Volunteer at fundraisers/events · Promote fund raisers by selling tickets or merchandise (recipe books, t-shirts ...) · Taking the register at group meetings Help out at meetings · Set up before meetings · Clean up afterwards · Greet members at the beginning of the evening · Collect name tags and farewell at the end of the evening · Help serve tea · Take photographs at meetings and at other events

WINGS has a database for statistics purposes and
information for our funders. Everyone who is on the newsletter
email list or has been to an event is on this list. If you would like
to be removed from this list or unsubscribe off the email list then

Wedesday night meetings we will mention your company name &
details in our newletters.
UNWANTED ITEMS-
Do you have unwanted clothes or household items you no longer love?
WINGS will take those items and sell it at our Bric n Brac table. RECIPE BOOK-$15.00. On sale at the WINGS office and at the Wednesday night meetings.

Immigration Service has a NEW Welcome pack The New Zealand Immigration
Service has a new Welcome Pack which will be given to all new Residents
and those coming to NZ with a Work Permit. If you have arrived in New
Zealand in the last 6 months and would like to have one of the new
packs, please let Ellen know and she will arrange for one to be sent

- Foreign Wives Club is an online community designed to offer
information, resources, and support to women in bicultural marriages
around the world. It was started by an American woman living in Japan
married to a Japanese husband with kids.
